Future Hoverboard

트로피이미지

The Lexus division of the Toyota automobile company in Japan announced it made a prototype for a hoverboard - a floating skateboard without wheels. Lexus combined a superconductor, made of cooled liquid nitrogen, and a magnet that does not need to charge to create the board. The surface of the board is natural bamboo.

The hoverboard, called “Slide,” looks like the ones in the science-fiction movie Back to the Future and the animated film Super Board.

Lexus said it made the hoverboard as a prototype to promote technology and innovation, but has no plans to commercialize the board right now. However, Lexus will test how the board functions in Barcelona, Spain this summer. “When technology, design, and imagination come together, amazing things can be achieved,” Lexus tweeted.

Lexus is not the first company to produce a type of hoverboard. Last year, a California-based company called Arx Pax also made and sold its own version.
